What is Coast Community CIC
Coast Community CIC is a welcoming, free community space for families with babies and young children in West Cornwall.
We believe that families need somewhere they can simply turn up, feel welcome and be themselves. Our doors are open to all families, with no referral, membership or financial barrier.
At Coast Community CIC, families can come along to play, have a warm drink, meet other families and build friendships and connections within their community. We offer a relaxed, non-judgemental environment where children can explore and play while parents and carers have the opportunity to connect with others.
Alongside our open-access sessions, we provide a range of activities and experiences for young children, including Messy Play, Balance Bikes, Rhyme and Shine and other family-focused sessions.
Our aim is to help prevent families from becoming isolated by creating opportunities to connect before support is needed, while providing a safe place where families can access information, discover local services and build relationships.
Coast Community CIC began in 2024, with our permanent community base in Ludgvan opening in January 2026. Since opening, our community has grown rapidly, and we now welcome around 147 people through our doors each week.
We are proud to be a grassroots organisation that has grown organically from the needs of local families. Our vision is to create a sustainable, thriving community space where children have the freedom to play, parents and carers feel supported and connected, and families know they have somewhere they belong.
